We always say, “Let’s catch up soon,”
“When things settle down,”
“Next time, for sure.”
But life doesn’t always give us a next time.
Friends, loved ones, the people who matter —
We often think we have more time to sit, to talk, to share a moment.
Until one day, we don’t.
The last time we sat down for a cigar,
we were just talking about which one to try next.
we didn’t know that cigar, would be the last.
It isn’t about sorrow.
It’s about gratitude.
Grateful for the quiet moments we once shared.
Grateful that cigars brought us together.
Grateful that he gave me an hour of his time,
just being present — nothing more, nothing less.
So, if you still can — call someone.
Meet up.
Light a cigar.
Put your phone down.
Talk. Laugh.
Say, “I’m glad you’re here.”
Before next time becomes never did. -Cigar Secret
